Project Overview

This project is about making navigation more intuitive and easier within the electronic medical records software. The problem is navigation is articulated only through text and requires reading through each label each time a nurse is filling out a patient’s chart in the software. Through icons being used with each text label, it will become easier and quicker to navigate because there is more distinction and eventually the text labels can be phased out.

Market

Profile

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, a very large U.S. healthcare IT industry trade group, observed in 2009 that EHR adoption rates “have been slower than expected in the United States, especially in comparison to other industry sectors and other developed countries. A key reason, aside from initial costs and lost productivity during EMR implementation, is lack of efficiency and usability of EMRs currently available.”

Target

Profile

I am trying to address healthcare/medical facilities and specifically to target the staff working within one.
